He is a PhD candidate in Electrical Engineering at The University of Texas at El Paso, Texas, USA since January 2011. During his doctoral study, he was awarded teaching and research assistantships and works as a lecturer at the department of electrical and computer engineering. He also founded the Society for Robotics and BioCybernetics in August 2011 to impulse the mechatronics and robotics research at the college of engineering. Mr. Rangel earned his Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Texas at El Paso on December 2010 to be immediately invited into the doctoral program in the following month. He worked as an academic advisor for 1 year and an IT specialist for 2 years at UTEP during his bachelor’s studies. Currently, Mr. Rangel holds the position of Chief Operations Officer at the Laboratory of Industrial Metrology and Automation. He is currently developing biomedical technology under the guidance of Dr. Sarkodie-Gyan. His main research interests include robotics, mechatronics, fuzzy logic and modern control theory and their applications in human neurorehabilitation.
